In this video Warren congratulates Johnny for 50 years of music. Warren Haynes and Johnny Neel worked together for years starting with Allman Brothers Band and then in Govt Mule. Johnny Neel celebrated 50 years in the music last December 2016 in Nashville TN.
Johnny Neel does a beautiful rendition of “That’s The Way Love Goes” as a tribute to one of the greats in Country Music, Merle Haggard.
Johnny said “This song came over me when I was in Park City Utah. We were playing on at large ranch on 10 acres and there was a river running right through the middle of it. I was overcome by the sound and just the whole feeling of the environment. I loved that place. Anyway, I asked if I could come back the next day and write this song, which Bryon Friedman and I did in about 45 minutes…seems like those are always the best ones. “
Johnny Neel in the STUDIO, working on his latest song that he wrote with Bryon Friedman “All The Way”. Great day in the Studio. Beautiful Song. This also shows how Johnny uses a Braille Typewriter to type out the lyrics. All instruments played by Johnny with Doug Jones on guitar and Al Russo singing harmony.
